Tradition, Charm, and Texas Warmth

Blending Texas Hill Country charm with German historic roots.

The Evergrowing Hill Country Town

New Braunfels was founded in 1845 and has been growing ever since. Between July 2020 and July 2023, the town experienced significant growth, adding 20,000 new residents. With its unique charm and variety of attractions, it is easy to see why so many people are drawn to the area.

For families, Landa Park is one of the most popular spots in town. It offers beautiful green spaces, scenic walking trails, and in the summer, the Landa Park Aquatic Complex opens for kids to enjoy slides, rope swings, and swimming. Located about a mile from downtown, it is a great place to start the morning before stopping by a local coffee shop. Some of the best-known options in the heart of New Braunfels include New Braunfels Coffee, Two Tarts, and Coffee NB. A recent addition to the coffee scene is Chapter Co Coffee.

Opened less than a year ago by two sisters, Chapter Co Coffee began when they discovered a former Airbnb for sale downtown. They transformed the space into a coffee and bookshop while preserving its eclectic charm. The upstairs still features the original shower, but instead of being used as part of a rental, the area has been turned into a reading and study space. The owners have embraced the layout by offering locally sourced skincare products at the nearby sink, allowing customers to sample before purchasing. Many of these products come from vendors who regularly participate in the Saturday farmers market.

New Braunfels has also seen exciting changes in its nightlife scene. Two new bars, Lost and Found and Cowboys & Cadillacs, have joined the mix, adding fresh options alongside established favorites like Pour Haus and Oyster Bar.

Lost and Found, opened by country musician Randy Rogers, offers a two-level experience. The first floor has a relaxed sports bar atmosphere, while the rooftop provides a great view of the town. It is also located next to Muck & Fuss, a well-known spot for food and drinks.

Cowboys & Cadillacs, which opened in February, has elevated the bar scene in New Braunfels. This three-story venue includes a bar on each level, private rooms, outdoor fireplaces, and a dedicated live music space. The owners invested nearly a million dollars into creating a high-end atmosphere, making it one of the most impressive destinations in town.

From coffee shops to new nightlife options, New Braunfels continues to grow and evolve while maintaining its small-town charm. Whether visiting for a weekend or settling in as a resident, there is always something new to explore.
